Reflection in the Orb

The strange egg shaped orb should be familiar to anyone who follows this blog or lives in and around London. It is of course the mayors office located next to Tower Bridge that also can be seen in the photo.

Its great that we get sunny days in London but I wish (like all photographers) that I had the power to call in clouds when I like. The great thing about being in London all the time is that you get many opportunities for different moods of the same scene.

Have a good weekend and I’ll be back on MOnday.

Up at the Oxo

I have taken many shots while looking up at this famous London Landmark but I have never found any worthy of showing you. This is the first one that I wanted to share with you. Perhaps it is the angle that makes it more appealing to me or the movement in the sky. What ever it is, I hope I get more of it in my photos.

The OXO and more…again.

I first visited this spot to take photos in 2009 when I first started taking HDR photos. I took a photo from nearly exactly the same spot. I can see that from looking at that photo here, that I have improved alot. The old photo had the dreaded halo on buildings and was a very overdone HDR.

Now I think that I have a much better, and perhaps more subtle, effect.

Ice cold Thames

An August night shouldn’t be this cold! No the Thames is not made from ice here, its just that the long exposure and ice cold blue tones, make you think it is.

This is a frame from a timelapse that I am still working on, I now have around 20 different clips that I am happy with. All I need now is some music and some good video editing software. Where is a Mac when you need one?

I was standing in this spot for about an hour, doing the timelapse. It is just coming into winter so it was freezing.

This is my 500th post. What a milestone. This picture is for all of my followers and is one of my favorites that I have taken.

I love the sky in this photo

It was surprisingly empty around London Bridge. I wasn’t complaining. It’s very peaceful when its like that

Someone better tell them to move.

I love this image. You can really see the sun shining down the alley way, off of the buildings, down to tower bridge

The Thames isn’t the cleanest of rivers
