Wow some of you may be thinking. Perhaps not at the photo itself but the fact that it is not my normal HDR edited image. Most of my photos from Occupy London around St Paul’s Cathedral I didn’t process in my usual manner. Instead I just edited them in Lightroom. Fir some photos I prefer this method as not all photos merit a HDRing (a term that I want to get out there more).

Anonymous are back and tinkering with various media sites. For those of you who do not know who they are a quick google search will bring you many answers. For those of you who want a quick explanation, Anonymous are a global hacking group made of people from around the world. They take justice into their own hands, hacking for political reasons and important matters. To read of there most current hacking head on over to Gizmodo.

Anonymous are represented by the logo that you see here on this flag at Occupy London. They also wear the Guy Fawkes mask but I will show you that another day.

Stairs to St Paul’s

I haven’t been back to visit the protesters at St Paul’s recently but I hear that they had to get rid of a few tents although I’m sure that it didn’t have much effect on their spirit. This was taken a while back on a photo walk before the protesters took camp at the bottom of these steps.

Only 4 days to christmas everyone. I should now start to buy some presents. Oxford street is mad at the run up to christmas so I am going to try and avoid it at all costs.

St Paul’s Opening Times

I don’t always process photos as HDRs. Infact for most of the Occupy London protest images I just used Lightroom to process them. This is one of those files. I have so many from the protests that it would of taken me an eturnity to process them all in HDR.

Keep calm and carry on drinking

This mask these days is known for the front of the Anonymous hacker group. It is also used as the general face of protest. Crafted after the face of the notorious  Guy Fawkes, who tried to blow up the houses of Parliament (those of you who don’t know about the gunpowder plat, Google it), it has been taken on all over the world in “sticking it to the Man”. I’m sure there is the Anonymous group at Occupy London as their flag has been seen and i’m sure they will be there for alot longer.

Glass next to St Pauls

I went up to St Paul’s Cathedral to take pictures of the protesters as there was a rumor that they were being made to leave. Of course that didn’t happen and they are standing as strong as ever. The place was full of photographers. They must be used to it by now, everyone wanting to get photos of some of the Anonymous group members. I got some of those aswell that I will post next week but for now here is one from my walk to the entrance.

This is a shot of the One New Change shopping centre that I have been in many times to go take shots of London from the roof top.

Lights upon St Pauls

Recently the sky in London has always been red. In the past I have seen a multiple of colours including purple and once a green tone. I don’t know if its the Autumn season that has done this but I haven’t seen any other colour in a while.

The lights on St Paul’s were brighter for some reason on this night so you can see them lighting up the dome in the distance.

A lift to the top

As I was going up the lift to the top of the One New Change shopping centre I realised it was the perfect spot for a picture. Unfortunately the is not much room for a tripod in the confined place plus it is constantly moving. I quickly turned up my ISO so I could grab this. I was on the way up to the roof to take the shot that I posted yesterday.

It is obviously ST Paul’s Cathedral which may be one of my most photographed buildings but not by choice. It just seems that all my endeavors end up in that area.

From the top of One New Change

One New Change is a relatively new shopping centre located next to St Paul’s Cathedral. i have been up in this position before but decided to give it another visit after I went to see the protesters around St Paul’s.

You get a great view of the city and an amazing close up of the dome of the cathedral. You can see the London Eye in the distance lighting up the skyline with colour.

Art by St Paul’s

Yeah I know what your thinking, another one of St Paul’s. What can I say, I’m addicted to it. I have noticed this sculpture many times, infact there are three of them all in a row which always have someone climbing on them.

St Paul’s Cathedral is still closed to the public because of all the protesters around the front. Check out my photos of them here. I’m not sure when it will be open again but I have yet to go inside and take photos so I hope it is soon.

Through to St Paul’s

Wow 3 in a row of St Paul’s Cathedral. It kinda just happened. I may have just unwillingly outed my self as a lover of this building. Anyway……

This photo was taken on the Millennium bridge that links the cathedral to the Tate Modern Gallery. The spot lights were unnaturally strong this night as you can see here but they certainly did their job.

I had to wait a few minutes for people to vacate this very busy bridge. it took a few attempts but I was happy with my second bunch of brackets.

The corner of St Paul’s

More from St Paul’s today and this shot from the gated gardens. It was taken on a photowalk with Murphyz and you can see him in the process of taking this shot in the lower part of the picture. You can really see how large the building is.

Protesters at St Paul’s

I went to St Pauls Cathedral to take photos of the recent protesters there. I went there on Tuesday 18th October, where I think the number had risen to over 300 protesters camping outside. They are protesting over many things such as anti war, poverty but it started with protests against the finances of the country. The demonstration is part of a global campaign inspired by the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York.

Over the Thames

This photo was taken a for steps from yesterdays photo. It shows a view of St Paul’s Cathedral in the distance, all the way to the Gherkin near the centre of image.

Reflection By St Pauls

Sorry for the late photo post today but my computer suddenly decided that it was related to a Blackberry and didn’t like the internet. Anyway now its back and I am able to post this photo of St pauls for you.

You might reconise this scene from this post before but what you didn’t see there were these mirrored orbs. Walking up to them Murphyz and I both pushed up against them, testing the weight. We were both surprised that they moved very easily. I don’t know what they were made of but we later discovered a few dents in them where people had leant up against them expecting the same as us.

I couldn’t wait to take a photo with the reflection behind me. You can see my camera set up in the reflection. I did have one with me sitting there aswell but the scene behind is definately better without me.

The OXO and more…again.

I first visited this spot to take photos in 2009 when I first started taking HDR photos. I took a photo from nearly exactly the same spot. I can see that from looking at that photo here, that I have improved alot. The old photo had the dreaded halo on buildings and was a very overdone HDR.

Now I think that I have a much better, and perhaps more subtle, effect.
