Christmas Still?

Is it too late to still post christmas photos? I’m gonna say that its never too late. Does Covent Garden still have their decorations up? I guess they have until the 6th January until their bad luck sets in.

Its so easy to take good christmas photos in London. Everything looks so christmassy (if thats even a work). These giant ball balls reflect the light so well and turn into huge disco balls. All you need is some club music and the night is sorted.

Rudolf the giant green reindeer, has a very shiny nose.

Merry Christmas and all that jazz. I hope all of you had a great christmas day bout for some of you the festivities are only beginning. If your family is anything like mine you will now be preparing to the mass family get together. That means all cousins, young children and distant family relatives will be sitting on chairs of all different heights around a dinner table.

For those of you who are all christmased (yes I made up that word) out now of the time for shopping in the sales; although for those of us in London will perhaps not have that joy as the Tube strike is now on making like hell for Londoners.

This giant reindeer lives in Covent Garden for christmas. People always gather around it as a meeting point this time of year.

Anyway, what ever you do today I hope you enjoy it!

Happy Christmas Eve Eve everyone!!

Such an occasion merits a christmassy picture and I would say the Christmas decorations at Covent Garden deliver. These are hanging in the famous Apple Market, small niche shops littering the walls. You can see the string bank players at the bottom of the stairs. There is always some band playing there selling their CD but on this occasion I think that they were just singing carols.

I hope you all have a fantastic christmas and drink lots of eggnog (or other alcoholic beverage of your choice) and eats lots as you should at christmas. See you all on Boxing day.

Lights upon St Pauls

Recently the sky in London has always been red. In the past I have seen a multiple of colours including purple and once a green tone. I don’t know if its the Autumn season that has done this but I haven’t seen any other colour in a while.

The lights on St Paul’s were brighter for some reason on this night so you can see them lighting up the dome in the distance.

Crew Members Only

A Photo from the Bahamas today taken on Castaway Cay. For those of you who haven’t been following me that long, this is the private Disney Island. I worked onboard the Disney Magic cruise ship for 6 months visiting all over the Caribbean and Europe.

This was taken at the entrance to the crew beach. I would spend all my off time on the island here. It wasn’t that much (perhaps an hour per visit) but it was the best hour of the week.

Trails Around the Imax

I have only been to the Imax cinema near Waterloo once to see a film. I thought that The Dark Knight deserved a viewing there and it didn’t disappoint. The cityscape view and action was well worth it. That was many Years ago but I revisited the location to get some traffic trails around the circular building.

The glass structure has always looked good at night with the adverts lit up all around the edge. I waited for a bus to drive past so I got unique lights and colours that only it could produce.

The Night Palace

Another from the same night as yesterdays image. Green Park is part of the old garden of Buckingham Palace. I guess some would say that it still is the Palace garden.

I had just gone for drinks in Covent Garden and thought I better take the opportunity to get some night shots of Buckingham Palace. A friend that was with me offered to be my assistant for the night. It was weird having someone with me as I usually go out, find a good playlist on my iPod and use the time to relax. Company was a great change though and had great fun.

A world of red.

Another one from the Natural History Museum today.

The rusty globe changes colour as different lights flicker from underneath the sculpture. Light from outside illuminates the entrance adding a golden glow from behind. Light from above acts light a spotlight which creates some interesting shadows.

You may have noticed that I have a new logo in the bottom corner. I designed a new logo to go with my new website. Please take a look. thinkjames.com

Looking down on Mickey

The Disney Cruise Line logo.

This logo appears everywhere around the ship. It is also on the main 2 funnels that, interestingly, only one actually works. The other is home to the radio station and also the club for teenagers.

The Red Room

I was luckily enough to take photos while on a tour around the Maltese capital, Valetta.

We walked all around the town taking in the sites but we also went into what used to be the royal palace.

The Funnel of the Magic

The Magic by Night.

Walking out on deck 10 is so peaceful at night. No children running around and only Mickey to keep you company. This is looking out over the Mickey children’s pool. Disney has some great colours!
