Reflection in the Orb

The strange egg shaped orb should be familiar to anyone who follows this blog or lives in and around London. It is of course the mayors office located next to Tower Bridge that also can be seen in the photo.

Its great that we get sunny days in London but I wish (like all photographers) that I had the power to call in clouds when I like. The great thing about being in London all the time is that you get many opportunities for different moods of the same scene.

Have a good weekend and I’ll be back on MOnday.

The Scoop

The Mayor’s office has always been an interesting building to me. Mainly because someone once described it to be as a sliced egg which now just stays in my mind. The tripod police came up to me shortly before taking this photo saying that I’m not allowed to take pictures. Try telling that to all of the tourists around me snapping away. I thought it was because of my tripod that they stopped me but apparently it was only because I was taking pictures.

Anyway after I sneakily grabbed one more shot that turned out to be the best one of the area. You can see the men in blue coats by the entrance of the office. I might go back there with a bigger tripod just to annoy them at some point.

Leading to the Mayor

I took many photos on this purple night but I felt weird trying to take this photo with a couple getting cosy on the steps. You might ask “why didn’t you wait until they were gone?” I tried! I went around taking loads in the area and an hour later I got back to this spot and they were still there.

Other then that moment London was kind to me that night.

A reblog of a photo I took a while back. A favorite of mine.

One of my favorite past photos that I have taken. It was before I started really concentrating on HDR photography fresh out from studying artchitecture.

Same building, different view. The reflections in the glass are intense.
