My name is James Murray and I live in London, England but love to go exploring in foreign climates. Coming from a design background I look at photography as an extension of this, recording the lifestyles and architecture that make up are world.
My passion for photography started when I first picked up a film camera (wow I miss the darkroom), capturing the moments of my accident filled childhood. I transferred this passion into my studies mixing in all of my design influences to create my own style.
Architecture and photography are the perfect blend each complementing the other. As a HDR (High Dynamic Range) enthuiast, I use this technique to enrich my images.
I have worked as a photographer since 2010, taking photos of the enviroment that I lived in around London, selling images as artworks and to companies. In 2011 I worked for Disney on their cruise ships with the big mouse himself. Onboard I worked as a portrait and wedding photographer, learning new techniques and feeding my travel bug.
Every photo is a memory; there is no better way to capture it then how you see it, not how the camera sees it.
Looking out over Segesta
The only landscapes I have taken with what you would call greenery and mountains have been while I was in Sicily. I need to get out and about around England and surrounding areas to shoot the british countryside. That is my resolution for this year like I have mentioned before.
I have posted a picture of a temple in Segesta before and you can just see it in the centre of this image.
Lots and lots of green
I hardly ever am able to post a landscape shot. Since I live in London I mainly focus on cityscapes and architecture but would love to visit the English country side to get more like this. Well this isn’t really the English countryside as you can probably tell. This is a landscape in Erice, Malta.
I am making it a 2012 resolution to get more shots like this. The top of my list if a trip to the south of Wales as I have a friend there who I haven’t seen in ages. It also tapes the the countryside is excellent and can’t wait to get some sunset pictures on the coastline.
Tower Bridge HDR Panorama.
I have missed posting some london pictures so just for today I am going to post something that I just finished. I have been spending alot of time in London recently with alot of free time so I have working on HDR Panoramas. This one is made from 19 different images stitched together.
Two views of Cozumel for you today. Mexico was the next stop for the Magic and everytime we went to the same place. There is a bar set up by ex-crew for current crew strangely called No Name Bar. They done the best smoothies and milkshakes and it was great sitting there looking out to sea.
The last one of the night
I loved being onto of the new shopping centre. If you are ever in London, I suggest going up to the top of the One New Change shopping centre. You get the best view.
