A View from Waterloo.

Im not sure that when you are on a photowalk that you are allowed to take a shortcut and go on the tube. I was at the Tower of London taking photos just after the sunset and the light was good. I had an idea of where I wanted to go during the night but this shot was a key one. As the light was still perfect I wanted to get there quickly. I got a tube from Tower Hill to Temple which is about a minute away from Waterloo Bridge where this photo was taken from.

From here you you a good view of three major landmarks. The London Eye, Charing Cross bridge and Parliament.

St. Stephen’s Tower at sunset. Most people know that Big Ben is actually the name of the largest bell inside the tower but the actual name of the clock is relatively unknown. I only found this out a few years ago and I had lived around london to 21 years before then.

The sunset was amazing that night so im glad I caught it for the timelapse. I stayed there for 2 hours so I could get from daylight to complete darkness.

I went on the London Eye for the first time in 9 years. Had been too long. It did mean that I could try some tilt-shift photography. All done in post processing though.

So I woke up this morning and nearly had a heart attack. Trey Ratcliff had commented on my picture from the photowalk he done in London.

His exact words were “I dig it… incredible blues, no? I love it….”

I am so happy right now.

This image has such a variety of colours. I could only get this in HDR

Big Ben HDR

This is similar to the other Black and white photo of big ben. I used photoshop to enhance the clock faces.

Watchful clock

I loved how Big Ben just pokes out of the trees. I thought a black and white image would extend the emotion with the clock face.
