Well perhaps not brutal but definitely inspired from brutalist architecture. This is one of the entrances/exits of the Canary Wharf underground station. It is probably my favourite station to photo as the architecture is superb. This is the more quiet entrance. The main one is much larger but designed in the same type of style.
It was taken out on a photo walk with Dylan, John and Mike. We weren’t out for long as is was freezing and felt like -20 (in reality it was more like -3) so pretty cold. I didn’t use a tripod for this photo and perhaps I should of. It caused me to raise the ISO so a lot of noise was produced. I managed to get rid of most of it but I am still not happy with the actual opening in the entrance. I produced a version where that noise was gone but it still didn’t float my boat.
No guesses for where this is
As the title says, its pretty easy to tell where this photo was taken due to the fact it is plastered all over the balcony. I was walking to St Paul’s (again) and this is on my route,
The architecture of the centre creates great angles to photo. Inside you have to be quick to take photos as security comes up to you as soon as they see a tripod or DSLR. The view from the top floor roof is great and if you’ve been following me a while you will have seen many of these. If not then search back on the blog and you will soon come across one.
Late Night Cathedral
Taken on a very cold winters night last year, here is a photo of a side door of (guess the cathedral)…. thats right…the usual St Paul’s that I must of photographed hundreds of times by now.
I had a mixed weekend filled with MacDonalds (i know, it was a weak point), car shopping for a friend, snow and a late night/early morning Super Bowl that I am regretting today. It was worth it as the Giants won who I decided to support ever since I saw them play at Wembley a few years back.
Tiny Mickey
Last photo of the week now and one that I only processed yesterday. I found a lot of Disney Magic pictures that I haven’t processed that I feel are definitely worth the time.
A lot of my free time on the boat was walking around with my new 50mm 1.4 finding unique shots. While friends were sitting around the pool on deck 9 I started walking around the open decks on 9 and 10.
Its gonna be a cold one this weekend for those of you in England (and northern Europe) with snow here in London planning to fall on Saturday. I’m gonna have to wrap up warm and take photos over the weekend, I suggest that you do too.
